Multi-broker sync (SnapTrade)
One read-only connection that covers hundreds of brokerages worldwide. There is nothing to configure — no API keys, no account IDs, no files. You click Connect, sign in to your brokerage on SnapTrade's secure portal, and your account values appear in Ember and refresh automatically every day.
Connecting — three clicks, no credentials in Ember
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Multi-broker sync and click Connect via SnapTrade.
- You're redirected to SnapTrade's Connection Portal. Pick your brokerage and sign in there — your brokerage username and password go to SnapTrade's secure portal, never to Ember. Ember requests read-only access; it can never place trades or move money.
- You're sent straight back to Ember and the first sync starts. One investment row is created per brokerage account, and values refresh automatically every day at 09:00 UTC.
Have accounts at more than one brokerage? Click Link another brokerage on the same panel — every brokerage you add rides the same single connection, so it still counts as one connection against your plan's limit.
Sync now vs the daily refresh
Your values update automatically once a day. The Sync now button does two things: it re-reads today's data immediately, and — at most once per 24 hours — it also asks your brokerage for a genuinely fresh pull. A fresh pull takes a few minutes to land on SnapTrade's side, so sync once to request it, then sync again shortly after (or just revisit the page) to pick up the new values. The Integrations page tells you which of the two a click will do.
Which brokerages are covered
SnapTrade supports hundreds of institutions — mainstream brokers, retirement platforms and crypto exchanges across North America, Europe and beyond. Their directory has a short connection guide for each one (some brokers need a setting enabled on the broker's side first): SnapTrade brokerage directory →
Don't double-count a broker
If you already sync a broker through its own Ember connection (IBKR, Trading 212, or a crypto exchange), don't link that same broker through SnapTrade too — the balance would be counted twice in your net worth. Pick one path per broker.
Plan, privacy, and disconnecting
- Multi-broker sync needs the Ember plan or above, and counts as one connection toward the Ember-plan limit (Blaze is uncapped).
- Access is read-only by design — the connection is created without trading permissions, and Ember never sees your brokerage credentials. The connection secret Ember does hold is encrypted at rest with a per-user key.
- Disconnect any time from Settings → Integrations; you can also revoke Ember's access from your brokerage's own settings.
