Kraken

Ember reads your Kraken balance using a tightly-scoped API key with no trading or withdrawal permissions.

Kraken sync needs the Ember plan or above — up to 3 live broker/crypto connections; Blaze is uncapped.

1

Create a restricted API key

  1. Log in to Kraken and go to Security API.
  2. Click Add key. Give it a description like Ember (read-only).
  3. Under Key permissions, tick only:
    • Query Funds
    • Query Ledger Entries (optional — needed if you want historical balance checks)
  4. Leave all trade, order, and withdraw permissions unchecked.
  5. Save the key. Copy the API Key and Private Key — Kraken shows these once.
2

Add the connection in Ember

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and click Add connection.
  2. Select Kraken.
  3. Paste the API Key and Private Key, add a label, and link to an asset.
3

Test the connection

Click Sync now. Ember calls the Balance endpoint, aggregates all asset balances at current market prices, and updates the linked asset.
